Diddy’s Lawyers Present Cassie’s Texts in Court, Claiming Consent in “Freak Offs”

NEW YORK, May 15, 2025 — In the ongoing federal sex-trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, defense attorneys presented text messages from singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, suggesting she willingly participated in the alleged “freak off” events.

During cross-examination, Cassie was asked to read aloud a 2009 message she sent to Combs, stating, “I’m always ready to freak off LOLOL,” in response to Combs asking when she wanted their next encounter.

The defense argued that these messages, exchanged roughly two years into their relationship, indicate consensual participation, challenging prosecutors’ claims that Cassie was coerced into the events. Additional explicit texts were introduced, including one from Cassie describing sexual acts, as the defense sought to portray the interactions as mutual.

Prosecutors, however, maintain that Cassie’s apparent willingness in texts was a result of coercion and fear, citing her testimony about threats from Combs, including the potential release of compromising videos.

Cassie clarified that phrases like “loving freak offs” were “just words” meant to appease Combs.

The trial continues as both sides present conflicting narratives about the nature of Cassie and Combs’ relationship.
