Ghana to send thousands of youths to Germany for employment after signing new labour mobility agreement

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Okudzeto Ablakwa has shared some major topics he discussed with Germany.

In an X post, The Member of Parliament for North Tongue said Germany is open to the idea of signing a labour mobility agreement with Ghana which will allow thousands of Ghanaian youth to be employed in Germany under a special bilateral arrangement.

This agreement currently under discussion would guarantee safe, rewarding and dignified employment similar to what Germany and Kenya signed recently.

Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa also added that they expect actual implementation of the agreement soon.

“Great meetings with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Mr. Joachim Stamp, the Special Representative of the Federal Government for Migration Agreements, and top officials of the German Interior Ministry on the margins of the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial ongoing in Berlin” He wrote in an X post

The MP also made things clear about the current plans of the NDC government when it comes to diplomacy.

“President Mahama’s government believes in meaningful and impactful diplomacy which boldly addresses the most important challenges confronting our people.” He added
