A recent ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll shows that President Donald Trump’s approval rating for his first 100 days in office is the lowest in 80 years, with only 39% of Americans approving of his performance.
Conducted from April 18 to April 22, the survey included 2,464 adults and revealed that 55% disapprove of his presidency, marking a 6-point drop since February and falling below his previous low of 42% in 2017.

The poll indicates that economic concerns are at the forefront of public discontent. A significant 62% of respondents reported experiencing rising prices, and 71% believe that Trump’s tariffs are contributing to inflation.
Only 31% think his economic policies will strengthen the economy in the long term. Additionally, fears of a recession are prevalent, with widespread dissatisfaction reflected in other key areas: between 57% and 67% disapprove of Trump’s handling of stock market volatility, tariffs, foreign relations, and the economy overall, while 53% rate his immigration policies poorly.

Criticism also extends to foreign policy, with 46% of Americans finding Trump’s approach to Russia too friendly.
The poll underscores a significant partisan divide: 51% of Republicans strongly approve of Trump’s performance, while 85% of Democrats strongly disapprove.
A recent CNN poll conducted by SSRS revealed that Trump’s approval rating stands at 41% as he approaches the 100-day mark of his second term.
This rating is the lowest recorded for any newly elected president at the 100-day milestone since at least the era of Dwight Eisenhower, including Donald Trump’s first term.

The poll indicates that Trump’s approval regarding his presidential duties has decreased by 4 points since March and is down 7 points from late February.
Moreover, only 22% of Americans strongly approve of his performance, while nearly twice as many, 45%, strongly disapprove.
