U.S. President Donald Trump landed in Rome today, announcing significant progress in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump revealed that the two nations are “very close to a deal” following productive talks and meetings.
He urged the presidents from both sides to convene immediately to “finish it off” and finalize an agreement, emphasizing that most of the major points of contention have already been resolved.
“Stop the bloodshed, NOW,” Trump declared, calling for an urgent end to the ongoing conflict, which he described as a “cruel and senseless war.”
Trump also expressed the United States’ willingness to facilitate further discussions wherever necessary to help secure a lasting peace.

The announcement comes on the heels of a “very productive” meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Rome, as confirmed by White House officials.
Sources indicate that the talks have focused on key issues such as territorial disputes, security guarantees, and economic reconstruction.
While details of the proposed deal remain undisclosed, it is believed there is a potential turning point in the conflict, which has caused significant loss of life and global economic disruption.
The White House has not yet specified the location or timing of the proposed high-level meeting but reiterated its commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts.
