China has unveiled the world’s first 10G broadband network, a groundbreaking achievement in global telecommunications.
The network, launched in Sunan County and Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province, delivers staggering download speeds of 9,834 Mbps and upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps, setting a new benchmark for internet connectivity.
This development, a collaboration between tech giant Huawei and state-owned operator China Unicom, utilizes cutting-edge 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) technology, positioning China at the forefront of broadband innovation.
The network’s capabilities are nothing short of revolutionary. With a latency of just 3 milliseconds, it can download a 20GB 4K movie in under 20 seconds—a task that typically takes 7 to 10 minutes on a standard 1Gbps connection.
