In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) of Ghana arrested 219 foreign nationals in Accra on Friday, April 18, 2025.
The operation targeted networks involved in cybercrime and human trafficking, leading to the detention of 218 Nigerians and one Ghanaian, as reported by Graphic Online.

This operation was a collaborative effort involving EOCO, National Security, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Armed Forces.
Authorities acted against the suspects, who were allegedly operating advanced cybercrime rings and were also linked to human trafficking activities in the capital city.
