An immigrant living in Los Angeles has allegedly drowned her daughter after falling into depression over the fear of deportation.

The fiancé of a Los Angeles woman accused of drowning her 7-year-old daughter stated that she was suffering from depression related to her immigration status, as reported by ABC7 on Tuesday.
The man, who requested to remain anonymous, expressed his belief that Graciela Castellanos, 37, allegedly drowned her daughter after falling into a deep depression due to her fears of not becoming a legal resident.

Despite the serious allegations, her fiancé described her as “the sweetest mom in the world” and emphasized that she had never harmed the child before this incident, according to ABC7.
