Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has filed a lawsuit against Ecobank Ghana what could be a huge legal battle.
The renowned rapper filed the lawsuit the Commercial Division of the High Court earlier today.
Sarkodie is accusing the bank of using his image without consent and seeking damages, a perpetual injunction, and a withdrawal of all related publications.
Recalled that Eco Bank made an advertisement with the image of what many see as Sarkodie’s lookalike.
The advert says “Be alert, Looks can be deceiving”.
The multiple award winning rapper didn’t take the post as just one of those normal advertisements but an infringement on his image rights.

He therefore decided to take a legal action against the bank, asking for the advert to be taken down.
