Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council to begin demolition exercise to clear wetlands and ramsar sites as raining season approaches

According to the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council has announced that it will be demolishing all structures and buildings In water ways.

The regional minister announced on Saturday that his caucus will be undertaking a demolishing exercise effective on April 7.

The target areas in this exercise are infrastructures om ramsar sites and wet lands as the country approaches its rainy season.

The aim of the exercise is to control floods as  these structures intercept the flow of water after rains. These are known to be the major cause of floods in the region.

Individuals with buildings and infrastructures located in water ways, wetlands, and ramsar sites are to ensure that they evacuate thee premises with immediate effect.
