Netanyahu warns ‘Gates of Hell’ in Gaza will open if all hostages are not returned by Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu goes on record stating that “hell shall be opened in Gaza” if all hostages are not released by Hamas while bolstering a joint US-Israeli strategy against the militant group.

Speaking to an audience attached to visiting American State Secretary Marco Rubio on Sunday February 16, Netanyahu said the strategy was unable to be fully revealed to the public but Israel would unleash a decider if they failed to free hostages.

“We will eliminate Hamas’s military capability and its political rule in Gaza,” the statement read. “We will bring all our hostages home, and we will ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel.”

He also affirmed ongoing strong support from United States, stating that this opportunity would enable his country to achieve its objectives with speed. Conversations he had with Rubio included the US president’s vision regarding the future of Gaza.

Recently, Trump announced that the US intended to take over Gaza-to make it a luxurious destination-“Riviera of the Middle East” and relocate the two million Palestinians it houses to other countries such as Egypt and Jordan. The proposal ignited fury from people all over the world.

Rubio recognized the controversial nature of Trump’s plan but admitted that it was bold and visionary. He underlined that the circle of war going on forever in Gaza had to stop and reiterated the need to destroy Hamas as both a military and political force.

“The first priority for Trump is that the hostages held in Gaza since Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack need to come home,” Rubio said.
