According to documents obtained by TMZ, Buzbee sent two demand letters to Jay-Z in November 2024.
One letter was related to Jane Doe who accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping her in 2000 when she was 13.

The other complaint concerned a John Doe who claimed Jay-Z s3xually assaulted him at a Beverly Hills party in 2015 after being drugged by someone other than Jay-Z.
Jay-Z has denied both allegations, calling them “false and ridiculous in every respect.”
His legal team views Buzbee’s letters as blatant blackmail attempts, with Jay-Z alleging that Buzbee demanded “something of substance” to settle the “situation.”

In November, Jay-Z went on and filed suit against Buzbee under an anonymous identity, charging the accused with extortion.
Subsequently, he revealed himself as the complainant, prompting Buzbee to seek the case’s dismissal.
Now, Jay-Z is fighting to keep his case against Buzbee alive, stating in court documents that he viewed the attorney’s actions as “an existential threat to my reputation, my career, my family, and everything else I have spent my life achieving.”
In spite of the Jane Doe’s lawsuit being removed, Buzbee has not backed down, telling TMZ, “We expect that lawsuit, which is frivolous, to be dismissed.”
