Elon Musk vows to root out the highest-paid corrupt D.C. bureaucrats as he stuns America alongside Trump

Elon Musk made a lighthearted comment in the Oval Office on Tuesday, likening the thorough scrutiny of DOGE to undergoing a ‘daily proctology exam.’

Despite this intense examination, he pledged to uncover and remove the top-earning bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.

The order, which wasn’t immediately released by the White House, was intended to ‘significantly’ scale back the federal workforce, pushing agencies to hire ‘no more than one employee for every four employees’ that depart, according to Semafor.

Musk and his son X were in the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon when President Donald Trump signed an executive order focused on DOGE.

Not signing the order in front of the gathered reporters was an unusual decision on the part of President Trump.

Instead, he allowed Musk to engage with his son in the spotlight for more than 30 minutes. During this extended time, Trump prompted Musk to reveal some of the insights he had uncovered.

‘We do find it sort of odd that, you know, there are quite a few people in the bureaucracy who have ostensibly a salary of a few hundred thousand dollars but somehow managed to accrue tens of millions of dollars in net worth while they are in that position,’ Musk said. ‘Which is what happened in USAID. We’re just curious as to where it came from.’

‘Maybe they’re very good at investing, in which case we should take their investment advice perhaps,’ Musk said.

Trump rubber-stamped what Musk was up to, telling reporters, ‘We don’t want an unsuccessful guy doing this.’

‘And I fully expect to be scrutinized and get a daily proctology exam, basically,’ Musk joked. ‘Might as well just camp out there.’
